Vermouth bars are common across Spain, southern France and Italy, and now there’s one right here at King’s Cross. This characterful little nook is right at the heart of Coal Drops Yard. Welcoming and familiar, Vermuteria draws on the spirit of the Italian word, “famiglia” and is a distillation of the bars and cafés along the cycling Grand Tour routes of Italy, France, and Spain.
Vermuteria is the latest project from chef Anthony Demetre, of Arbutus and Wild Honey fame, and multidisciplinary designer Michael Sodeau. Anthony’s own seasonal vermouths are available, as well as on-tap artisan beers, top-notch coffee and food inspired by the regions. Another detail is affordability. You can buy an espresso at the bar for about a pound just like in many continental establishments.
Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. Vermuteria is walk-in only. See the website for menu and drinks listings.
Hours: Mon – Wed 8am – 23:30, Thurs & Fri 8am – midnight, Sat 10am – midnight and Sun 10am – 10.30pm.
