From 18-20 October 2019, Canopy Market, is celebrating Chocolate Week with a special
collaboration with Cocoa Runners, purveyors of the world’s finest craft chocolate. Canopy Market will
host a dedicated chocolate market packed with the best craft chocolatiers, tastings, talks and
demonstrations, all under the West Handyside Canopy’s beautifully restored Victorian glass and steel

With a focus on exceptional bean-to-bar craft chocolate, visitors will be able to sample rare and unusual
award-winning single origin chocolate bars. The line-up, curated by Cocoa Runners, will give visitors
an opportunity to meet the international chocolate specialists, who are bringing their wares to Canopy

On Friday 18 October, chocoholics can immerse themselves in a chocolate and wine pairing session,
hosted by wine expert Francis Percival. Returning by popular demand on Saturday 19 October, is the
‘Taste with Colour workshop’ hosted by Hazel Lee, where you will taste a number of bars from around
the world, connect flavours to colours and paint the flavours that you taste as you go. Chocolate maker
and bean hunter Greg D’Alesandre will be encouraging people to take a second look at Africa as a source
of cocoa in his talk and Andrew Baker will share stories behind his recently published book, ‘From Bean
to Bar – A chocolate lover’s guide to Britain’. The philosopher, Julian Baggini will share his reflections
on the bean to bar craft chocolate movement, and Barry Smith will be leading an interactive workshop
to look at the science behind how we taste chocolate.
