Between 19-21 July 2019, Canopy Market, located in King’s Cross, will host Green Rooms Market, bringing together London’s best botanical brands for a weekend of plant shopping, talks and creative workshops, all under the West Handyside Canopy’s beautifully restored Victorian glass and steel roof.
The unique North London space will be transformed into an urban jungle for you to shop houseplants, herbs, pots and planters, macramé, terrariums and plant accessories from the specially selected independent businesses.
If you fancy getting creative or soaking up some planty knowledge you can join one of the botanical themed workshops; Botanical Boys will be bringing their ‘Love Plants, Love Life’ ethos in the form of family-friendly terrarium making classes. Their workshops are known to provide an escape from the stresses of daily life and provide the time and space to make your very own terrarium. The Multi-talented creative duo Kat and Ellen from BAM! will be hosting a popular macramé plant hanger making workshop. You will learn each stage of the hanger making process from selecting your yarn colour and using a variety of knots to create your very own hanger, to fitting your desired pot size and trimming.
Are you as smitten with succulents as we are? If you’re looking for a creative ways to display these trendy plants, Succulent specialist Peng Succulents will be hosting unique succulent frame making workshops or why not quench your summer thirst with a Superb Herbs drinks workshop? Accompanied by an herby cocktail and lush taster, Superb Herbs will share their tips for growing healthy herbs and reveal some of their favourites for drinks and infusions. During the workshop you’ll have the chance to plant up your very own Big Mumma drinks planter: with expert help you can choose up to four delectable herbs for a bespoke pot to take your drinks to the next level.
Apart from the workshops we’re talking fresh flowers, potted plants, cacti and succulents; flora that’ll thrive on your desk, on your windowsill, in a window box or planted in the garden. You’ll also be able to pick up natty plant pots, ceramics, hanging baskets and other flower-containing doo-dahs to brighten up your home or workplace.
It wouldn’t be a hip Canopy market without the traditional extras, so rest assured the market will also include the regular line up of your favourite traders, from street food, artisan produce, craft beer, a wine bar and designer-makers.
