Enjoy the best alfresco day London has to offer from 24 Jul – 4 Aug, as Coal Drops Yard opens up for two weeks of spectacular FREE live performances, hosted alongside 14 of London’s newest terrace and rooftop bars and restaurants.

Cubitt Sessions is 100% live and free. This year our programme features some of the finest artists programmed by our Cubitt Sessions partners Tête à Tête, Kings Place and Anthony Whitworth-Jones. It includes a specially curated series of classical delights featuring the superb Ayanna Witter-Johnson, world-class flamenco guitarist Paco Peña, and an evening courtesy of young singers from English National Opera Opera company Tête à Tête.

As part of Cubitt Sessions, Vermuteria, will be bringing the best of their spectacular drinks menu from their Coal Drops Yard restaurant, out into the open with a pop up bar. Grab yourself a bespoke drink inspired by the origins of Vermouth distilling, established during the 18th Century in the city of Turin, and the great Vermouth bars of Italy & beyond.

Visitors can enjoy the free performances on one of the many deckchairs provided – but get there early to bag your spot, and soak up the sun!

Cubitt Sessions highlights include:

Tête-à-Tête Presents: Madame Butterflop – Wed 24th July, 6.30pm, Running Time: 45 mins

Hot on the heels of BOHEMERGENCY! And TOSCATASTROPHE! Comes MADAME BUTTERFLOP. Hear Tête-à-Tête massacre another classic, take a magnificent cast and put them through the hell of a shambolic production.

Tête-à-Tête Presents: Ayanna Witter – Johnson  – Thurs 25 July, 6.30pm, Running Time: 40 mins

Ayanna Witter- Johnson is THE definition of eclectic soul, she is a singer, songwriter, cellist who is a rare exception to the rule that classical and alternative R&B music cannot successfully coexist. This is down to her musical prowess, mesmerising vocals, uncompromising lyrics and mastery for reinterpreting songs on her cello.

Nishla Smith& Manchester Collective – Fri 26 July, 6.30pm,Running Time: 1hr 40mins

Join jazz singer Nishla Smith and Manchester Collective as they paint an enchanting vision of a fantasy world in this one-off set for Cubitt Sessions. Drawing on her new show ‘What Happened to Agnes’, as well as original material from her 2019 EP, Nishla will bewitch and beguile audiences in what promises to be an unforgettable summer night out.

Anthony Whitworth-Jones Presents: Paco Pena and Friends – Sat 27 July, 6.30pm, Running Time: 2h Inc. interval

Bringing to life the intoxicating rthythms, colours and sounds of Andalucia, Paco Pena  and members of his company of talented young dancers, singer and musicians present a classical form of flamenco concert with bursts of glorious improvisation and virtuoso flamenco technique.

Kings Place Presents Family Sunday: Trials of Cato – Sun 28 July, 1pm, Running time: 1hr no interval

The remarkable rise of energetic trio The Trials of Cato on the UK folk-scene hs been the subject of massive critical attention. Dubbed “The Sex Pistols of folk”, (J Davis) they pay clear homage to the tradition whilst twisting old bones into something febrile and modern, with stomping tunes and captivating stories.
