& Other Stories, the one-stop styling destination, is the latest major retailer to announce its arrival at King’s Cross.
The new store, the fifth in London, will open a 5,920 sq ft space on King’s Boulevard in autumn 2017, filled with a diverse selection of accessories, stationery, bags, jewellery, beauty products, shoes and ready-to-wear collections, all designed in ateliers in Paris, Stockholm and Los Angeles.
& Other Stories follows several other top retail brands to have been revealed at King’s Cross with Nike Central (a global first for their new concept) opening in August last year, and Jigsaw, Carhartt WIP and 18montrose all set to open a new stores shortly. It will join neighbours Google and Havas, overlooking Granary Square.
Annual footfall on King’s Boulevard, where & Other Stories will open, is estimated at 18 million people by 2019. Autumn 2018 will also see the opening of the main concentration of retail at King’s Cross, Coal Drops Yard – London’s newest shopping destination – 100,000 sq ft for up to 65 shops and a major restaurant, all together in historic former industrial buildings reinvented by Heatherwick Studio.
The & Other Stories King’s Cross store will include a mix of both up-and-coming and established elements, applied to everything from store locations to co-lab collections. It joins a retail collective at King’s Cross focussing on fashion, lifestyle, and food and beverage operators, and its arrival continues the district’s retail evolution; becoming a destination for an interesting line-up of both iconoclastic, and more accessible brands.
Samuel Fernström, Managing Director, & Other Stories, said:
“We’re thrilled to have found a great location in the King’s Cross neighbourhood. There’s a very creative atmosphere here with Central Saint Martins just around the corner, making us feel right at home. We can’t wait to open our doors this autumn.”
Craig White, Project Director, Argent, said,
“The retail evolution at King’s Cross is continuing at pace and the addition of & Other Stories joining Jigsaw and Carhartt WIP on King’s Boulevard later this year, is exciting news for shoppers who will be treated to influential brands with fresh approaches to visual merchandizing innovation, handpicked to bring the very best in fashion and lifestyle to the area.”
More details of the opening events programme will be revealed shortly. The provisional opening date is autumn 2017.
