British fashion retailer Jigsaw, which was originally founded in Hampstead in 1972, is to open a new store in King’s Cross, in Three Pancras Square on King’s Boulevard.
The 2,500 sq ft shop will open later this year and will form a key part of the fashion and lifestyle mix on the street nearest the station, where Nike opened in 2016. Further tenant announcements are to follow in the coming months.
King’s Cross is Jigsaw’s 87th standalone UK location, and has been chosen for its creative buzz, the fashion-conscious students and workers who call it home, and for the 17 million people who will be using King’s Boulevard by 2021.
Jigsaw King’s Cross is being designed by Checkland Kindleysides to have a contemporary aesthetic, with the fit-out making the most of the large, double-height space to present a gallery feel.
The announcement follows the news that fashion and lifestyle store 18montrose has also chosen to open at King’s Cross later this year, in the Coal Drops Yard complex. When it opens fully in 2018, Coal Drops Yard will be London’s newest shopping street, a collection of the best fashion, design and food and beverage brands from around the world.
Peter Ruis, Chief Executive of Jigsaw said,
‘King’s Cross is one of the most exciting developments I have witnessed in London. A wonderful hybrid of creativity, commerce, travel and education, fused into the ultimate residential location and Jigsaw had to be a part of it’.
Craig White, Project Director, Argent (King’s Cross) said,
‘We are really delighted to bring Jigsaw, with a unique store design by Checkland Kindleysides, to King’s Cross on King’s Boulevard, connecting London’s busiest stations with the historic centre of King’s Cross amidst an impressive line-up of brands’.
KCCLP was advised by Nash Bond.
