Fashion and lifestyle concept store 18montrose will become the first retailer to open in the Coal Drops Yard complex in London’s King’s Cross, it has been announced.
With stores in Glasgow and Nottingham, 18montrose at King’s Cross will open on Stable Street, opposite the heritage Yard, in June and offers shoppers an experience somewhere between the physical and the digital, a new-to-London concept collection of menswear, womenswear and lifestyle accessories.
The 500m2 space is designed as a gallery, showroom and shop in one, with large-format screens displaying immersive content and product information that aims to connect the physical world of 18montrose more closely to the online, 18montrose.com. The versatile space also allows for catwalk shows, product launches, and musical performances to take place year-round.
International fashion brands stocked at 18montrose include Stone Island, Adidas Statement Footwear, CP Island, Common Projects and Maison Margiela. The store will also have a 10m long ‘sneaker wall’, displaying an interesting and changing selection of footwear brands.
18montrose is indicative of the other retailers targeted for the new shopping area, which will offer shoppers an experience different from other parts of London.
Each Victorian arch or viaduct space in Coal Drops Yard, at the heart of King’s Cross, will be home to fashion, homeware or design objects, under a 20,000 sq ft single-store roof space; an exciting mix of individual, independent shops together with signature retail brands from the UK and overseas.
Craig White, of Argent said:
“King’s Cross, already known as a central London office location, a prime residential area and an established foodie destination, is now adding retail. We are delighted to announce 18montrose as the first retailer to open at Coal Drops Yard which will bring a new breed of retail destination for London when it opens in autumn 2018.”
