Get into gear and clutch yourself a bargain as the Hemingway Designs’ Classic Car Boot Sale (CCBS) returning to King’s Cross N1C on 22nd & 23rd April 2017.
The event is bigger than ever and now has a dedicated mobile app so visitors can plan their day from DJ sets to what delicious food stalls to visit. Plus an opportunity to win a classic car for the day courtesy of the Classic Car Club London all by downloading the guide and purchasing an early bird tickets https://guidebook.com/g/classiccarbootsale.
For the first time ever, award winning Soho Radio will be broadcasting live from CCBS King’s Cross throughout the event. DJ’s spinning records from an open top double-decker DJ bus will include Andy Lewis (bass for Paul Weller), award winning broadcaster & KOTMs Eddie Piller and returning CCBS favourite Chris Sullivan (Wag Club/Rondo A La Turk) offering Motown, R&B, funk, soul boogaloo, rockabilly and rare groove for your listening and dancing pleasure. There will also be a separate radio van illustrated by legendary album art designer Pete Fowler which will be interviewing surprise guests as well as the great and good gig goers popping up at the event.
At 3pm each day there will be a demonstration of stunts and tricks by the record breaking monowheel which is based on a 1930’s design and previously only ever displayed at bike shows. The Monowheel will be joined by The Losers MCC (Old Kent Road), mosquito bike squadron riding motorised Trojan Mini Motors and Cyclemasters bicycles from 1949- 50s.
Also appearing is renowned Parisian street artist, Moussa Sanogo who will renovate and decorate The Bad Karma Impala throughout the day -UK’s first charity art car to help victims of domestic abuse. The idea is simple; take something broken and battered and make it beautiful again.
Garage doors will open and welcome visitors from 10am -6pm, on Saturday (22 April) and Sunday (23 April), with a whole host of entertainment and the best vintage traders and designer makers around to ensure a fantastic family weekender.
Classic Car Boot Sales are dedicated to timeless design, showcasing a selection of carefully curated designer makers, art, vintage fashion, accessories, homewares, an array of delicious street food plus an assortment of classic vehicles, making it a shoppers and browsers delight.
There will also be life size 3D classic car peep board printed in partnership with Canon, along King’s Boulevard and Granary Square, so visitors can see which ride suit them before browsing the actual vehicles for sale in our ‘Affordable Classics for Sale’ on display under the West Handyside Canopy and Granary Square.
Anyone interested in selling their classic car/motorbike/scooter should apply via email firstname.lastname@example.org. Classic Car & Sports magazine will be scrutinizing the classic cars during the day and winner will receive the coveted Silver Salver prize for best in show.
Other vehicles attending are the mobile cinema bus which will be showing a variety of films from the 1970s, a hand built single wheel motorcycle – based on designs from the 1930s.
There are plenty of pit stops to refuel throughout the King’s Cross location with fabulous food and a concoction of cocktails and soft drinks served from classic vehicles.
Co-founder Wayne Hemingway comments:
“We are so pleased to announce this year’s King’s Cross CCBS and our first ever live broadcast from award winning Soho Radio with such a great selection of DJ’s , I am sure our fun loving crowd will enjoy. It is also great to support projects like The Karma Impala – which offers a unique way to spread an important message through the use of live street art. There is so much to see and do and another highlight will be the display from the unusual monowheel which should get hearts racing and bring a smile to everyone’s face”.
Wayne continues, “The CCBS offers something for everyone with the mix of fabulous free entertainment, a host of stalls offering an eclectic mix of vintage, upcycled and uniquely designed goodies. It is a place to celebrate music, food, fashion, design and of course the eye candy that is classic cars, bikes and commercial vehicles.”
