Back by popular demand, Strawberries and Screen, the giant screen showing all the Wimbledon coverage, is now open in Granary Square, King’s Cross
Free to attend and bigger than ever, Strawberries and Screen is showing the very best of Wimbledon for all to enjoy, from Monday 27 June 2016 until 10 July.
Following three successful years of Wimbledon fever at King’s Cross, visitors will be able to pull up a deck chair and enjoy all the coverage by the canal side – the perfect place to watch Wimbledon this summer.
The screen is set up in canal side at Granary Square, King’s Cross and is one of the biggest and best-quality in central London.
Those looking to indulge in some Sipsmith Summer Cup and strawberries will be in for a treat, as the recently-opened bar and dining room The Lighterman brings its outdoor living pod to the square, serving up the best in Wimbledon-themed food and drink. KERB, the street food collective, will also be on hand Wednesday-Friday serving up the best street food around.
Speaking about Strawberries and Screen, Anna Strongman, who oversees the events programme at King’s Cross, said;
“Following the success of the last three years, we are delighted that Strawberries and Screen is back at Granary Square, its original home at King’s Cross. With deck chairs a-plenty, and a great choice of food and drink, we can’t think of a better place to watch the BBC coverage of the championship.”
Strawberries and Screen will run from the start of play at Wimbledon, to the conclusion of the men’s final on Sunday July 10, and it is absolutely free to attend.
The screen, four metres by four metres, will be showing the main BBC coverage and will usually be closed at around 8pm, unless a key match is in progress.
