The Skip Garden, the urban garden and community space in the heart of King’s Cross, has today launched its fun-filled autumn events programme.
The city-centre space, which is run by Global Generation, will be running a programme of quirky events, kicking off with two Pumpkin High Tea Workshop events.
The workshops are on Thursday 29 October and will take place in in partnership with This is Rubbish, to deliver a pumpkin themed afternoon tea, which will see visitors producing delicious pumpkin based dishes and enjoying a spread of pumpkin treats with a ‘high tea’ dining experience.
As well as Halloween themed happenings, events will include, family workshops, a Persian feast, a Skip Garden Open Day, The Global Feast, a Winter Market and the Skip Garden Fire Feast – full details found below.
The events programme is happening across the whole garden, with visitors able to explore the wetland twilight gardening and dining space, the giant glasshouse, and the state–of-the-art chicken coop – designed by students from The Bartlett School of Architecture earlier this year.
Speaking about the Skip Garden, Jane Riddiford, co-founder of Global Generation, said;
“It’s been an incredible year for The Skip Garden, following the move to our new home in April. The summer has seen us host a number of events and activities, welcoming children, volunteers and families alike to enjoy the new space. We’ve had a fantastic summer, and look forward to welcoming the new seasons and explore all this secret urban oasis has to offer.”
The Skip Garden is open Tuesday – Saturday, 10am – 4pm, and is free to visit.
