Classic car boot sale rolls into King’s Cross

Posted: Wednesday 26th August 2015

On Saturday 3rd and Sunday the 4th of October over 100 classic and historical vehicles will cruise into King’s Cross for London’s fifth classic car boot sale, curated by Hemingway Design and the Vintage Festival team.

The Classic Car Boot Sale will take place on Lewis Cubitt Park, off Stable Street, King’s Cross between York Way and the popular Granary Square – amongst one of Europe’s finest regeneration projects of the past 50 years.

The event comes of age with an expanded offer that celebrates timeless design and future classics as well as the evocative and historic public transport and goods vehicles that served the coal drops and grain warehouses that give King’s Cross its distinctive architectural backdrop.

Carefully curated young designers, designer makers, up-cyclers and purveyors of vintage fashion, accessories, homewares are joined by thousands of shoppers, collectors, vinyl lovers and petrol heads, for a family-friendly celebration of all things vintage, collectible and crafted.

Aside from perusing the stalls, there are plenty of opportunities to dine, drink, dance and do. You’ll find impromptu theatre, public information screenings in the truly unique Vintage Cinema Bus and lively musical performances Mr Wilson’s Second Liners alongside The Craft Beer Bus and vintage vans serving cocktails and street food including mac n cheese from Anna Maes and porky delights from Le Swine. Exquisitely rare show cars and Mod Scooterist displays provide endless entertainment; and, all the while, our Vintage Festival DJs provide a vinyl-only soundtrack atop the open-air Routemaster Bus Bar.

Wayne Hemingway said: “At HemingwayDesign we have been closely following and enjoying the transformation of Kings Cross. It is heartening to see Britain doing urban design so well and creating quality public spaces. We are looking forward to animating these spaces, streets and squares with evocative vehicles and giving independent designers, vintage traders, startup street food businesses, crate digging DJs and quirky street entertainers the opportunity to do their thing in front of thousands of people in a new environment for many .”

Entry to The Classic Car Boot Sale is £5, and tickets can be purchased on the door Lewis Cubitt Park, King’s Cross, on the day of the event.
