Who is Esoteric London?
We are a cutting edge design label specialising in hand made jewellery and accessories.
When did you set up Esoteric London?
I set up the brand in 2012, after graduating from London College of Fashion.
What inspires you to design this kind of jewellery and accessories?
I want to create something fresh and exciting, reflecting my love for ‘hands on’ design and manufacturing. I wanted to build something which wasn’t merely another fashion label, but instead create a fusion of the creative industries, built to inspire.
How would you describe your designs?
Bold and bright! Esoteric London’s jewels are designed for those who have something to say. Our pieces are a statement, and we want to help people make their own statement.
Where do you produce and source your designs?
All our collections are created in-house, from the initial ideas to the finished products; jewels are designed and manufactured in our South-East London studio by an experienced and innovative designer, in collaboration with my whole team.
We use sustainable, natural and locally sourced materials where possible to create our products using a combination of traditional methods and modern technology. Our favourite materials are speciality acrylics, exotic woods and intricately laser cut leathers.
What makes your designs so unique?
Many pieces are available in limited numbers – which means buyers get an exclusive, bold and handmade piece.
We have also more recently started running jewellery making classes with Made In Arts London, which means people can be a part of the design process, creating their own hand made piece. We will actually be hosting a class at this week’s Canopy Market in King’s Cross, and still have some places left for anyone who wants to give a go.
What makes your business tick?
I think it’s our ethos – we combine three key strands; Integrity, Creatively and Inspiration to create designs which are bold and exciting, but at the same time timeless. We don’t follow the passing trends, we craft exciting original products, which reflect the creativity and uniqueness of our customers.
Our pieces are hand-made and hand finished in the UK, using sustainable materials (the majority of which are sourced locally) with a fair working environment ensured for everyone involved, including the companies we work with. This ethos is not used as a gimmick but ingrained in the daily running of the company.
