Connecting people to nature
June 5th is World Environment Day – our biggest, most globally-celebrated day for positive environmental action. Every year, millions of people, in over 70 countries, come together to celebrate our planet and effect change.
This year’s theme is Connecting People to Nature. It’s a call to get outdoors and into nature to appreciate its beauty and importance, and to protect the earth that we share. Come to King’s Cross on June 5th and celebrate our amazing planet.
Events and activities
Pancras Square is the base for a day of activities walks and tours. London Wildlife Trust will be giving tours of Camley Street Natural Park. A unique urban oasis on our doorstep. To help you feel really connected to nature, University of the Arts London will take you on the walk of your life with the Deep Time Walk app. This 4.6km walk takes you on a journey of the Earth’s history where each metre represents 1 million years.
If you’d like to learn more about the design of one of the UK’s most environmentally friendly office buildings, you can take a tour of Two Pancras Square and its stunning roof garden. The tour takes starts at 12.30, please register here.
Camden Council and the Met Police will be promoting free cycle training and security tagging bikes. And the London Cycling Campaign who will be offering free bike checks.
