Seven billon dreams. One Planet. Consume with care.
June 5th is World Environment Day – our biggest, most globally-celebrated day for positive environmental action. World Environment Day is a big celebration, engaging millions of people in over 70 countries.
Every year, participants, young and old come together to organize clean up campaigns, art exhibits, tree-planting drives, concerts, dance recitals, recycling drives, social media campaigns and different contests themed around caring for our planet.
Every action counts!
This June 5th, come to King’s Cross and see how you can make an impact. There will be a whole range of activities, from test driving cargo bikes and cycle maintenance, to finding out where your waste really goes. You can take a tour of Global Generation’s new home right next to the new natural bathing pond – King’s Cross Pond Club. Join us and make a difference!
About World Environment Day
The celebration of World Environment Day began in 1972 and has grown to become one of the main ways in which the United Nations encourages positive action for our environment. Through World Environment Day, the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) encourages everyone to realise not only the responsibility to care for our earth, but also reminds us of our individual power to become agents of change. Every action counts, and when multiplied by a global chorus, the impact is exponential.
The theme for 2015 is ‘Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care’ – as living within our boundaries is the most promising strategy for ensuring a healthy future.
