Watch Wimbledon from the banks of Regents Canal
If you can’t get tickets to Centre Court, and don’t want to queue for Murray Mound, then head to King’s Cross this Wimbledon season for Summer Love. This year, you can see all the live tennis action from the canalside steps at Granary Square.
The King’s Cross screen will be one of the biggest and best-quality in central London, making it the perfect place to watch the tennis. The first 50 or so visitors will be able to grab one of our free deck chairs!
Wimbledon will run from start of play on Monday 29th June until the men’s final on Sunday 12th July. We’ll be showing the main BBC coverage, ending at around 8pm unless a key match is in progress.
Eating and drinking whilst watching the matches
Weekday lunchtimes tastetastic KERB will be on hand with delicious street food. And for those who want to indulge in the spirit of summer, Pimms, Prosecco, cold beers and soft drinks will be on offer all week from the Summer Love bar.
There are plenty of spots for a picnic, both on the square and steps themselves, or head to one of the many restaurants and bars in the area. Plus take a break and let the kids run wild in the fountains.
Everyman Summer Love Film Festival
As night falls, Everyman Cinema brings you an open-air film festival to follow the Wimbledon screenings.
The programme features a mix of popular musicals, family favourites and cult classics, as well as some recent releases. The films have been selected in partnership with Pride in London and Gay Times and celebrate summer love in the city. All films will be free to watch and will be screened on the canalside steps at Granary Square, moving to the Everyman Theatre if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
Check back here, or the Everyman Cinema website for details.
