This four-year art project sees artist Katriina Haikala aiming to draw some 1,000 live portraits across the globe. Each model is a person who identifies as a woman, and Katriina draws her subjects without looking at her sketches.
As Haikala explains, “Social Portrait embraces the diversity, equality and intimate encounters where the models are elevated and seen as an individuals as well as part of a bigger community.”
Presented by the Finnish Institute, Katriina continues her quest with a 12-day residency at King’s Cross. Find her under the trees on Granary Square.
