Dust of your Lederhosen and get ready for a Bavarian beer salute
Celebrate Oktoberfest with both traditional and modernist German food and beers at these King’s Cross venues.
Oktoberfest at German Gymnasium – 19 September – 4 October
This year, a team-up with Ginger Pig brings you a limited-edition Oktoberfest Sausage. This is a meaty apple and bacon-infused duck and pork sausage served with red cabbage and Lyonnaise potatoes. Also on the menu are delicacies like Bayrischer Wurstsalat – smoked pork sausage with gherkins, red onions and cheese, or the Oktoberfest Burger made with prime beef, pulled pork, Bavarian cheese and sauerkraut. Plus there are special Oktoberfest Weekend Boxes that can be delivered to your home.
Let’s not forget the beers. There’s Rothaus Märzen on draught alongside a selection of barrelled and bottled beers including Rothaus and Oechsner. All served by waiters and waitresses dressed in Lederhosen and traditional Dirndl dresses. Prost!
Oktoberfest at Drake & Morgan – 5 – 31 October
The fun continues at Drake & Morgan on Pancras Square from 5 October. Here’s there’s a more modern take on the festival. You’ll find Barvarian beer from craft brewer AND UNION, which you can pair with Bratwurst, Currywurst or even a vegan Plantwurst.
