From Geordie singing tree to a traditional fir frozen into a giant block of ice, the King’s Cross Christmas tree is always a surprise with an air of the unexpected, and this year is no exception!
Artist David Batchelor is behind this year’s tree. Using scaffolding and LED lights his tree transforms itself from day to night. By day, the scaffold structure is at home in its environment and the surrounding construction sites. By night the outline of a tree is revealed, floating like a child’s drawing.
Visitors to King’s Cross will be able to see the tree in Granary Square between Wednesday 13 November and Thursday 2 January.
