Institute of Physics Family Day

Saturday 18th May 2019

Fun, free science for the whole family

How long does a second last? How did we decide how far a metre is? What is the difference between light and dark? You’ll find the answers to these perplexing questions and more at the Institute of Physics Family Day.

Units of measurement are part of our everyday lives but you might not know that the ways in which we measure the world around us are changing! Join the Institute of Physics and the National Physical Laboratory for a day of fun, free science activities for the whole family. Take part in mini-games, hands-on demonstrations and arts and craft activities and go on a discovery trail around our new home in Kings Cross.

The activities are suitable for children aged 5-11 but there will be plenty for the whole family to enjoy! Free snacks and refreshments will be available throughout the day.
No registration is needed, just turn up. 11am – 3pm.
