Fashion, Race and Cultural Appropriation

An all-day fashion speaker conference at Central Saint Martins

Saturday 10th June 2017

Design takes inspiration from all things, but how can we understand borrowing, appreciation and, arguably, theft in a globalised economy and digital cultural environment? Are image making and fashion design ever truly separate from geopolitics?

In this all-day conference at Central Saint Martins, academics, researchers and practitioners join together to explore these timely ideas from a range of approaches relating to fashion design and image making.

The Keynote Speakers are Dr Sarah Cheang (Royal College of Art, London) and Dr Serkan Delice (London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London)

Join the conference on Sat 10th June, 10am to 6.30pm at the LVMH Lecture Theatre in the Granary Building.
