Echoes from the Birdcage – the story of King’s Cross in six amazing movements

This is the world premiere of a new composition by Jill Jarman in collaboration with Dame Evelyn Glennie –  the world-renowned virtuoso percussionist. The performance marks the culmination of Dame Evelyn’s term as King’s Cross Musician in Residence.

The are just two performances of this concert, on Friday 22nd December at 2:30pm and 7:30pm at Platform Theatre. Book your tickets here.

Echoes from the Birdcage is inspired by sounds collected and shared by the King’s Cross community. The composition captures the emotions of King’s Cross and reflects how much this area has changed through history. This composition is performed by Dame Evelyn with an ensemble of musicians.

About Dame Evelyn Glennie

Evelyn Glennie is the first person in history to successfully create and sustain a full-time career as a solo percussionist. She performs worldwide with the greatest conductors, orchestras, and artists. Evelyn Glennie had the honour of a leading role in the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
