It’s a chocolate takeover at Canopy Market
This October 18-20, Canopy Market is collaborating with Cocoa Runners to bring you a celebration of all things cocoa. The market will be packed with the best craft chocolatiers from around the country and further afield!
You’ll be able to sample rare and unusual chocolates, crafted single-origin cacao, raw nibs and the very best, velvety drinking chocolate.
Tastings, talks and demos
Chocoholics can immerse themselves in a chocolate and wine pairing session, hosted by wine expert Francis Percival.
Back by popular demand is the ‘Taste with Colour workshop’ hosted by Hazel Lee, where she will teach about connecting flavours with colour, enabling people to see more than just another shade of brown and bring bars to life in a visual way.
Choco geek Greg D’Alesandre will be encouraging people to take a second look at Africa as a source of cocoa in his talk.
Andrew Baker will share stories behind his recently published book, ‘From Bean to Bar – A chocolate lover’s guide to Britain’.
The philosopher, Julian Baggini will share his reflections on the bean to bar craft chocolate movement.
Barry Smith will be leading an interactive workshop to look at the science behind how we taste chocolate.
A series of chocolate workshops led by the chocolate producers themselves will give visitors the opportunity to learn about and try a range of chocolates, as well as explore its versatility. You can join a delicious workshop on ‘Principles of Pairing’, where you will learn about what to look for when pairing chocolates with different foods and drinks.
Classes and talks should be booked in advance. Tickets are priced from £3 – £ 10 and you’ll find timings and booking info here.
Of course Canopy Market will also feature all your favourite traders, street food, artisan produce, craft beer, a wine bar and designer-makers.
