House of Illustration presents the first major exhibition of the work of Edward Ardizzone in 40 years.
Ardizzone is one of the 20th century’s most significant and cherished illustrators and the exhibition will include over 100 pieces from public and private collections. The show reflects the incredible diversity of his career, with original illustrations, paintings, sketchbooks, prints, posters and ceramics.
Highlights include a Little Tim manuscript, mural artwork for a P&O ocean liner, ceramic figurines and poster designs for Lyons, as well as sketchbooks and illustrated correspondence.
Ardizzone: A Retrospective is co-curated by Olivia Ahmad and Alan Powers, and will be on display from Friday 23 September to Sunday 15 January 2017. Find out more about the exhibition and book your tickets here.
