The Lighterman pub, dining room and bar, is the great new addition to the restaurant and bar scene at King’s Cross.
Three floors, three experiences
This all-day bar and restaurant offers three floors of eating and drinking right at the heart of King’s Cross.
The lower level with its wood-fired grill and alfresco terrace on the canal is perfect for a drink or casual eating. The ground floor offers outdoor seating on Granary Square and serves breakfast through to dinner from the open kitchen. While the top floor has panoramic views across the square and canal. With a wraparound terrace, this level is perfect for a more formal dining experience.
Eating and drinking at the Lighterman
The modern British all-day and weekend brunch menus are overseen by executive chef Diego Cardoso. Seasonal and sustainable produce are at the forefront. Choose from healthy salads and spelt flour flatbread or aged beef burgers. For those looking for something more substantial, enjoy beautiful marinated meat, fish and veg cooked on a wood-fired grill. The drinks menu includes draught & bottled beers, craft ales and seasonal cocktails, together with a carefully-chosen wine list.
What’s in a name?
The Lighterman is named after the workers who operated “lighters”, the flat-bottomed barges that were a common sight on London’s waterways in the 18th Century.
