High voltage cable installation

Posted: Friday 8th November 2019

A high voltage cable is to be installed later this year and during the first half of next year, to serve buildings T2/3, S1, P2 and eventually S3. The route of the duct and cable install will be from the Energy Centre, along Chill Lane, across to S1 and on to P2. New road crossing ducts will need to be installed across the south end of Canal Reach as well as across Handyside Street and Wollstonecraft Street at the north east corner of the Plimsoll Building. There will be some alteration to walking and vehicle routes whilst ducts and cables are installed in the public realm areas.

The first section of these works is across Handyside Street at the junction of Wollstonecraft Street, which will take place from Monday 25 November  to Friday 20 December. Traffic routes will be maintained on Handyside Street and Wollstonecraft Street albeit with minor changes to the lane alignment. There will be some noisy work involved whilst cutting and breaking out the road surface. All works will be carried during normal working hours.

King’s Cross apologise for any inconvenience these works may cause.
