Works on Stable Street: 8 July – 23 August

Posted: Wednesday 3rd July 2019

Works will take place between Monday 8 July and Friday 23 August to install new hydraulic bollards on Stable Street. During this time there will be periods when the footpath at the top of Stable Street is closed to pedestrians.

From Monday 8 to Friday 26 July, the east hand lane of the road will be closed to traffic and one -way traffic will be maintained using a Give & Take System. From Saturday 27 July until Sunday 11 August, Stable Street will be fully closed to traffic and deliveries to the retail units on Stable Street and Coal Drops Yard will be made via Granary Square.

Stable Street footpath diversions will also be in place via Lewis Cubitt Square during the course of the works.

Out of hours work will take place on three weekends during July and August. These are as follows:

  • Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 July: 8am – 5pm
  • Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 August: 8am – 5pm
  • Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 August: 8am – 5pm

Over these weekends, acoustic blankets will be in use and all reverse alarms will be turned off to keep noise to a minimum. In addition, dust suppression methods will be used.
