Tower crane erection at P2

Posted: Friday 1st February 2019

There are due to be some temporary measures in place on Wollstonecraft Street in order for tower cranes to be installed at P2.

From Monday 4th until Friday 22nd February, the hoarding at the end of Wollstonecraft Street will be extended while the base for a tower crane is built, however this will not impact vehicles entering or exiting Wollstonecraft Street.

Between Friday 22nd and Sunday 24th February, the tower will be erected and Wollstonecraft Street will be exit only with one lane closed completely and the other only open between the Plimsoll Building car park and the exit onto Handyside Street. This will be managed by traffic marshals.

The entrance to the Gasholders London car park will be also be closed off during this time and residents of Gasholders London who use his car park will be given access to Handyside car park.

Works will be carried out until 8pm on Friday 22nd February, and between 8am and 6pm on both Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th February.

In addition, from Monday 18 March to Friday 5 April, the hoarding at the end of Wollstonecraft Street will be extended, and one lane of Wollstonecraft Street closed. This is while the base for a tower crane is built at P2, and to allow for the installation of permanent hoarding.

There will be a further road closure on 27th-28th April. The tower crane works will be complete by Monday 29th April and Wollstonecraft Street will return to normal two way operation.
