Essential Piling Works at Building S1

Posted: Tuesday 3rd July 2018

Piling work is currently underway on site at Plot S1 (on the corner of Handyside Street and Canal Reach) and a total of 8no. piles need to be installed as part of the foundations of the building.  These piles are exceptionally deep (over 50m) due to the building being located over the Thameslink Tunnels and, as a result, extended hours (8am to 8pm) may be required.  As the piles are located in between the tunnels they can’t be left in an unfinished state overnight as this may risk damage to the tunnels due to unforeseen earth movements.

Piling works will be taking place over on the following dates:

  • Tuesday 3 July
  • Wednesday 4 July
  • Thursday 5 July
  • Friday 6 July
  • Monday 10 July

We are trying to complete these essential works as quickly as possible to allow the site to go back to normal working hours and apologise for any inconvenience caused while the works are taking place.
