Goods Way Works

Introduction of a one-way traffic system

Posted: Friday 13th April 2018

In order to create a safe site entrance for the Google Site on King’s Boulevard, a one-way system will be introduced to Goods Way and will remain in place until construction work completes in 2022.

Once the one-way system is in place, traffic will only be able to travel westbound along Goods Way (from York Way to Pancras Road), eastbound traffic will be diverted via Euston Road.

The hoarding line on Goods Way has already been extended between York Way and King’s Boulevard involving the closure of the southern footpath. Notices are in place to divert pedestrians to the northern footpath.

The following works will be taking place over the next 6-8 weeks to create the new road layout:

7-11 May
A temporary pedestrian crossing (with traffic lights) will be put in place across Goods Way to the west of the existing pedestrian crossing to allow works to take place at the Goods Way/King’s Boulevard junction.

12-13 May
Works will take place to set up the Goods Way one-way system and will involve closing Goods Way to all traffic between York Way and Pancras Road over the weekend. Diversions for traffic will be in place during this period.

14 May-8 June
A new pedestrian (zebra) crossing will be installed on Goods Way across the one lane of traffic. This will remain in place until construction works on the Google site complete.

As a final note, once the new pedestrian crossing is complete, the hoarding line at the top of King’s Boulevard will be extended to the western pavement outside 3 Pancras Square to allow the safe turning of vehicles in the construction site.
