The Coal Office – Tom Dixon HQ
The new home of British designer, Tom DIxon
The Coal Office is on Regent’s Canal and Granary Square. The Victorian building, which follows the curve of the canal has been sensitively restored and is the new home of British designer Tom Dixon. The building will house the HQ. showroom, flagship store as well as cafe.
A new elevated park, Bagley Walk, similar to the Highline in New York, runs along the front of the building connecting Granary Square and Gasholder Park.
Originally called the Fish and Coal Offices, the first structure was built in 1851 to provide space for clerical workers associated with the coal trade. You can read more about the history of the buildings at King’s Cross here.
