Meet the Canopy Market Traders

A Q&A with Pixie owner of Of Trying Times and designer of Handmade Jewellery

Posted: Monday 24th October 2016

How did you start your market stall?

It was started as a way to redirect negative energy from bad days at work into creation so as to encourage myself to feel better and pick myself up after each setback

Tell us an interesting fact about what you sell

The handcrafted jewellery is all made through stories of my personal experience of growing up in my twenties. I hope to connect with other individuals through this shared experience of transitioning into adulthood.

Browsing through the collection of items at Of Trying Times is akin to taking a peek into her personal diary, with each collection revealing a different chapter of her life and her anxiety of being twenty.

What is the most rewarding thing about trading?

I love meeting new people and having conversation about the items as well as how they feel they could relate to the stories behind them – I find they often become friends too!

Who is your ‘typical’ customer?

They tend to be females in their twenties who enjoy stories behind their purchase and have affinity with handcrafted goods.

To shop Of Trying Times, visit the Canopy Market, trading from Friday 28 10am-6pm, Saturday 29 10am-4pm, Sunday 30 10am-4pm.
